As part of her research, Ericka carried out sea trials on two vessels from the Transmartisa and Galatrans cooperatives that cover the main routes in the islands (Santa Cruz-Isabela and Santa Cruz-San Cristóbal). He placed equipment that controls the movement and behavior of the vessels at different speeds and, in addition, data on fuel consumption was taken, as well as the number of passengers and cargo.
